History: In ancient Greece, students wore leaves of Rosemary during study so they could retain what they studied. It was a symbol of love and honor by the Western world and brides wore wreaths made of Rosemary. Also, people would throw Rosemary sprigs into the graves of loved ones to indicate they would not be forgotten. A tea was often drunk to prevent jaundice. The herb was used to perfume homes in the 16th century and during the 1665 plague, people carried pouches of Rosemary to keep themselves from getting sick.
